I pride myself in architecting scalable cloud server solutions, producing high quality code, or supporting with software planning at any step of the development process. Also, I can build you a simple but effective website, cloud solution or app, that gets the job done.
What I do
In recent times I’ve acted as an architect / engineer, focussing on incredibly web applications with React with TypeScript, cloud solutions in AWS and micro/domain services using Golang.
I previously had a focus on PHP, JavaScript and server architecture but I switch languages and frameworks rapidly and regularly, depending on the requirements.I still cannot juggle, however.
I build AWS cloud solutions, dedicated linux systems and automated deployment environments. I also build teams.
Technical Architecture
At Sage, I designed large interconnected domain services to be written in .Net Core for their modern cloud-based accounting products. From solution design, to the api endpoint specifications, through to consultancy of best approaches and patterns to use in the development.
Leading the UI Reference Architecture, I rigorously improved our standards in Typescript, React, testing strategies and general web application development
Cloud Solutions Architecture
In March 2022, I saved a small business £36,000/year, in a day’s work, without impacting performance. This was ~20% of their annual AWS costs.
As a certified AWS Solutions Architect, I know how to build operationally excellent, secure, reliable, performant and cost effective cloud services.
As a consultant, I regularly audit business’ cloud setups with a view to improve any / all of the above pillars of the well architected framework.
Software Engineering
What drives all of this, is my love for software engineering.
In 2017 I lead a very small team, to deliver the official eCommerce platform for Sony PlayStation Europe, in a matter of weeks.
I write working prototypes in next to no time at all, constantly improve my language skills and release Android games for fun.
Those who can imagine anything, can create the impossible.

I build secure server solutions that withstand heavy traffic, develop eCommerce and ticketing platforms that take huge revenue and deliver all manner of websites, apps and IoT systems in between.
